Chinese pork with rice


Dieting? If you love your food and drink, you'll probably find diets a bit of a trial - losing a bit of weight only to regain it later. Well here's the answer! See our METHOD below. Not only have we lost 7 stone in weight, but we've managed to keep it off too! 
Once you've lost the weight, you can adopt the principles of our system and use them to maintain your weight. We believe it's the only weight management tool you'll ever need, and you get to enjoy your food too.
So what were we having during the week? This spicy pork dish was so easy to make, and not as expensive as you may think. It's also quite low in calories too. Take a look at our recipe and start enjoying tasty food.
Ingredients
100-150g pork fillet (tenderloin) per person
1 tablespoon Hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon Soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon of Chinese five spice
pre-cooked Basmati rice (we used 75g of dried rice for the two of us)
sesame or groundnut oil
one egg - beaten
handful of fresh or frozen peas
one or two sliced spring onions
salt/pepper

Cook your basmati rice earlier on in the day (or buy pre-cooked). Drain in cold water and leave to cool then place in a refrigerator until needed. The important thing is that the rice should be cold.

Mix the Hoisin sauce, Soy sauce and Chinese five spice powder together and use to marinate the pork.

Leave the pork to infuse overnight - or for at least half an hour.

Take the pork out of the refrigerator for around half an hour before cooking. If using straight from the freezer, then it will take longer to cook. 

Brown the pork in a frying pan, then place into a hot oven (180ÂșC). Our 400g piece of pork tenderloin took about 18 minutes to cook. The resting period continues to cook the meat - so allow for that.

Remove pork fillet and leave to rest for five minutes.

Heat the marinade through and pour onto the pork.

RICE
Add a small amount of oil to a saucepan, heat gently and add the cold rice.

 Heat the rice through.

 Add the beaten egg and keep stirring until cooked.

Add the peas/onions and cook for a minute or so.

Season to taste then serve.

The rice is absolutely delicious and very delicate in flavour.
