Let your kitchen gadgets do the work for you: add stock vegetables to the slow-cooker, place the meat on top and fill with around a litre of hot water. The meat falls apart and has a really meaty taste. It's also low in calories and this plateful is around 450 calories - including the Yorkshire pudding (see recipe below)!
YORKSHIRE PUDDING
Makes 6 (muffin size tin)
75g plain flour
one large egg
115ml milk (we used semi-skimmed)
20ml water
salt/pepper
oil

Heat oven to 190ºC (fan oven), 200ºC (non-fan).
Place dry ingredients including salt/pepper into bowl.
Add egg and a small amount of the liquid. Gradually whisk in the liquid - don't add it all at once or the mixture will go lumpy.
Let it rest if you can for around half an hour.
Put a drop of oil into each muffin well. Place the tin into a hot oven to heat up the oil.
Pour mixture into tin.
Cook for about 25 - 30 minutes or until golden brown and well risen.
